Backpacking

A special way to go on holiday are so-called backpacking trips. Especially the younger generation loves backpacking through distant and unknown cultures. But more and more people in the middle of life are also attracted to this independent and free form of travel. When travelling backpacking, as the name suggests, the traveller usually has no more than one backpack with him. Equipped with this single piece of luggage, you will be able to reach the chosen holiday destination. The booking is usually only the arrival such as a plane or train ticket and sometimes also the first nights at the point of arrival. All further details will then be revealed on the trip. In contrast to conventional trips, where every day is often planned down to the smallest detail, the backpackers love to live into the day and follow their inner guidance. A fixed route is rare for such trips or these can be modified as required, as no fixed accommodations are booked in advance.
The interesting thing about travelling in this way is the great flexibility and independence. Every day you can decide anew whether you want to stay one more night in the current place, or prefer to move on. This allows the tourist to visit a variety of different places and cities. Since the accommodations have to be found from night to night, this type of travel is not for people who need security to feel comfortable. In contrast, people who love adventure and like challenges will be attracted to backpacking.
But it is no longer quite as exotic as this kind of travel may sound to many. Many countries, such as Thailand, Mexico, Argentina and Australia, have already adapted to the special needs of backpackers. In each place you will find hotels and hostels for one or two nights. It only becomes more exotic when the traveller chooses fewer tourist areas, such as the countries of East Africa, the far north or the vastness of Russia. When travelling backpacking to far-off areas, it is important to inform yourself in advance about the entry formalities and the health recommendations. It is not uncommon for the detection of special vaccinations such as hepatitis to be prescribed or at least recommended for entry. An enquiry about the occurrence of malaria and other exotic diseases can also help to prepare for the journey in a targeted and optimal way. If you are looking for adventure and are not afraid of challenges, you can certainly experience a lot of interesting things with such a way of travelling and often in a very cost-effective way.
